Chinese screens, camellias, antique furniture, paintings by Salvador Dali, crystal candelabra, Chinese figures of horses and cats, white flowers. In these apartments, there is only one missing – the bedroom, because the hostess always slept in a personal room at the Ritz Hotel.

Villa Christian Dior

In this seaside town, there is a villa where the famous designer Christian Dior spent his childhood. In the former residential building now houses a fashion museum, the rooms have been transformed into exhibition spaces with preservation of their original appearance. Here is a large collection of works by Dior. Mostly the last decade of life (1947-1957), when he alone created a “new look” and a new image of a Parisian woman – elegant and fragile, with graceful shoulders and a thin waist. From the windows of the villa you can see the Channel Islands and the garden, where, to this day, roses for the Christian Dior perfume are grown.

Elvis Prestley Estate “Graceland”

The Graceland estate was opened to the public on June 7, 1982. It occupies 14 acres of land and cost Elvis a considerable amount – $ 100,000. Thus, the estate became for Elvis the embodiment of his long-standing childhood dream, which he once gave to his mother: “One day I will become rich – one day everything will change and I will buy you a beautiful house in which we will all live together and you never need will work more – people will work for you. ” Here, Elvis constantly arranged parties, rest with friends, and ride horses. Now, this estate is open to visitors. Sequined suits, piled, music awards and much more are waiting for you behind the doors of Graceland. But, unfortunately, photo and video shooting inside is forbidden.

Summer House of Salvador Dali in Cadaqués

Cadaques is a fishing village on the cape of Cap de Creus. Here on the picturesque Lanier beach, there is the summer-house Dali. Rising up to the chapel, you can see familiar landscapes, transferred to artists on their canvases. From here you have a wonderful view of Port Lligat Bay and the rocky coast of Cap de Cereus cape, the gray cliffs of which many times inspired the talented Catalan. In the summer of 1929, his friends came to visit the artist, among whom was the French poet Paul Eluard, along with his wife – the beautiful Gala, who immediately liked Dali. In 1997, the house-museum of the famous painter open here. It is a complex of fishing huts, which are built according to the project of the artist in the form of a labyrinth. Visitors are presented with living rooms, an art workshop, a garden, and a library.

Studio of the Italian designer Akilla Castiglioni

At the entrance to the studio, you will see a sheet attached to the cork board with the inscription “Start from the sketch. Guided by common sense. Remember what you are striving for. ” The studio is located on the first floor of a large house in Castello square in the center of Milan. The place is really atmospheric. The feeling that the studio still lives, everything looks so natural, not a museum. On the table lie printed letters, pencils, and round glasses, on the shelves – drawings, photographs and four hundred folders with projects. For nearly sixty years of Castiglioni’s career, he created about one hundred and fifty items. In the house, you can see the most famous of his works, such as lamps Arco, Snoopy and Toio, and less famous.
