Eco-style in the Interior. For Those Who Live in Harmony with Nature…

Eco-style in a modern interior of a house or an apartment helps to create a cozy and comfortable environment. An important advantage of such design is the ability to find a solution which meets every need at all cost.

Color Layout

The ecological style is characterized by the use of specific colors in decorations. As a rule, these are all the shades that we may find in nature: sand colored, grass, pine, terracotta, blue, white.  Only “acid” shades and sharp color combinations are excluded. They are inappropriate in such a design, considering that the interior in eco-style has to relax, everything should create such atmosphere.

Materials

The room in eco-style is decorated if possible with natural materials, as an exception with its imitation. The designing includes wood, stone, cork, terracotta, ceramics, glass, paper, wicker osier, matting.

  • The walls may be decorated with wallpaper with plant motifs images or with panels of cork. Both of them supports the eco-style, but the former is within one’s budget. Painted or whitewashed plaster also quite eco-friendly for the wall;
  • The ceilings are either covered with plaster or with wallpaper for painting or embellished with wood;
  • The floors are often made of wood, stone or ceramic tiles;
  • The furniture is often ligneous and has a simple shape (straight or smooths imitating the natural curves found in nature;

Lighting

The most important is to use natural light. If it is not enough, feel free to add artificial lighting. Lamps in the design can be “invisible” ( built-in), creating a light stream, complementing the light from the Windows, as well as decorative, with lampshades of textiles, rice paper or osier, with elements in the form of wood branches or horns of animals.

Eco-style is close to minimalism because in nature there is nothing superfluous. Therefore, decor items usually have practical functions. For instance, wicker baskets and chests become convenient storage places. A fireplace would be also a perfect addition to the interior.

Greenery is another “tool” of the designer that revives the simplest interior or turn an ordinary room into a corner of the tropical forest.
